Clean and friendly place with a breakfast cooked the way you like it. Pleasant small bar with pool table at a price I've not seen since the 1980's. Freeview in the rooms. Walking distance to town centre for pubs, eating places and clubbing. Ample free parking to the front and side. Excellent VFM - Allan ‎ (6 Jun 2011).

What can I say, my girlfriend and I got a warm, friendly welcome at the Greenbank Hotel Darlington. We stayed the weekend and had a great time! Five minute walk into the town center for a pint and a meal at any of Darlington's many pubs and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and tidy and the British theme was fabulous. Top marks for a cheap but great weekend away - Patrick ‎ (30 Mar 2011).

Me my wife and 3 children came up to see some family and stopped in the family room which is normaly hard to accommodate for, we had a warm and freindly welcome from Michelle and Steve. The room was 2 conjoined rooms and was safe for the children in the adjacent room to ours. I also felt it was good value for money and the kids real enjoyed looking at all the memorabilia in the pool room, we will definitely see you next year - Anonymous ‎ (29 Jun 2009)

Good weekend away Five others and myself stopped at the Greenbank Hotel this last weekend (15th Feb 2008/17th Feb 2008) and apart from it being cold we had the most fantastic weekend. The hotel is one of the best I have ever been to, you can spend the best part of a day just looking at all the military things that are there. Mike was there to show us around upon getting to the hotel and we were shown to our rooms. The rooms were large and had all the things you come to expect but with that personal touch (like towels).

After going out to have a look around Darlington we went back to the hotel to change for the evening night out and went into their bar and Mick's partner told us the best places to go for a meal and drinks after.

Saturday morning and we all went up for breakfast and all had orange juice and most of us had the full english (with all the trimmings) and some just had coco pops, tea and coffee pots filled when empty but first class service. Out for the day watching the stags (Mansfield Town) beat Darlington 2-1 and back to the hotel and after changing from our clothes and into the bar for a pint (or three) and asked the chap who was serving us the best place to eat out and again the help from him first class. Went out and picked some food up and came back to the hotel for the night and have a chat with some of the others who were stopping there.

Sunday morning came oh to soon as it was up again for breakfast and the service was again first class and then handed the room key's and then the long trip back home. But all in all the whole weekend was made that much better by Mike and all the team who help and work at the Greenbank Hotel and if we (Mansfield) are on the same league as Darlington next season it will be one of the first games I will be looking for and then booking the hotel for the weekend away again - David ‎ (20 Feb 2008).
